Sober by design
A generation is drinking less and going out less, largely because going out has meant drinking. Mystic takes the alcohol out and keeps the night.
One roof, many rooms
Three or more rooms of separate sound, so a jam, a DJ set and a tea ceremony can happen at the same hour without ruining each other.
Open past midnight
San Francisco loses its third places to closing time. This one stays open — tea, food, music and heat until 2am.
The building
Eight rooms, one night.
Mystic is designed as a set of rooms that hold different tempos at the same hour — so the same evening can be loud, quiet, hot, still, or all four in sequence.
Teahouse & restaurant
Gongfu tea service and a vegan kitchen, open late. The bar pours tea, tonics and elixirs — nothing with alcohol in it, ever.
The dance floor
A proper sound system and a proper night. Electronic, global, live — loud until 2am, and everyone in the room remembers it.
The listening room
Seated, hushed, acoustically separate. For sets meant to be heard rather than moved to — and for the poets and storytellers.
The jam room
Instruments out, no audience required. The room where the musicians who came to dance end up playing.
Steam & stone
A sauna cut like an amethyst geode. Heat, cold, quiet — the part of the night that undoes the rest of it.
Private tea rooms
Small rooms for long conversations, ceremony, or a table of six who want a door. Bookable by the hour.
Movement & healing arts
Ecstatic dance, contact, breathwork, bodywork, meditation. The daytime life of a building that stays up late.
Meeting & event rooms
Salons, workshops, launches, weddings. The rooms that let a nightclub earn its keep before the sun goes down.

Mystic needs a space that most listings never mention: room for a crowd, walls that keep three rooms of sound apart, and neighbors who can live with music until 2am. If you know a place — own one, manage one, or walked past one yesterday — tell us.
Suggest a spaceWhat it has to have
- San Francisco preferred — Oakland and Berkeley possible
- At least 8,000 sq ft, with capacity for 500 or more
- 3 or more rooms of separate sound, without significant bleed
- Loud music can go until at least 2am
- No residences directly above or sharing a wall
